Greenville Progressive Coalition

Indivisible Upstate SC is a member of the Greenville Progressive Coalition, a network formed in early 2025 to protect democracy and work for social justice. We frequently hold rallies, interact with our elected officials, and participate in mutual aid in our communities.

Together Greenville

Together Greenville was launched in February, 2025, as a local “Trouble Nation” chapter under Red Wine and Blue, a national community of over half a million diverse suburban women working together to defeat extremism, one friend at a time. Their mission is to train and connect women from across the country of all political backgrounds – including many who have never been political before – to get sh*t done and have fun along the way.

The local Upstate group connects like-minded people with shared values who want to work with others to protect democracy on the local, state and national levels, in and around Greenville, SC. They are an advocacy and activism group, a social outreach group, and a support group for those who care about protecting our country and all of those within.

50501 SC

The first 50501 (pronounced “Fifty-Fiftyone”) protests were a decentralized rapid response to the anti-democratic and illegal actions of the Trump administration and its plutocratic allies.

The idea—50 protests in 50 states on one day—spread like wildfire on social media. In just days, grassroots organizers, without any budget, centralized structure, or official backing, pulled off more than 80 peaceful protests in all 50 states.

The movement has since mobilized millions of people and brought together a growing network of organizers and organizations, both new and established.

Nationally you can find them at www.FiftyFifty.one, or follow them locally via their 50501 SC LinkTree.

We The People Greenville

We the People Greenville works to educate our community on issues relating to our democracy. They facilitate connections that transcend our differences and advocate for justice and equity for all of our Upstate South Carolina neighbors.

They are working to become a local media hub on diverse internet platforms that will reach a wide-ranging group of people. They will focus on topics that include issues being raised on a local and state level that affect all our Upstate communities.

Tell Them Tuesday

A few hundred forward-thinking activists have gathered in downtown Greenville for over eight years now to “Tell Them” how they feel, with “Them” being our US Senators Lindsey Graham and Tim Scott as well as our 4th Congressional District US Congressman William Timmons. You’ll find the “Tellers” in the 100 block of South Main Street (in front of Judson’s Bookstore) noon – 1 pm (11:30 – noon during the summer) every Tuesday, rain or shine.

Sometimes they bring musical instruments and sing and dance… sometimes they chant… and they always have a good time. All peaceful protesters are welcome to join in, and if you don’t have a sign of your own, they’ll probably have one you can borrow.

Connect with them via their Facebook page.

Democratic Women of Greenville County

An active and diverse group of women (and men!), the “Dem Women” support and promote Democratic women to become actively involved in the community, to serve in leadership positions in the county, state, and national Democratic Party, and to serve as candidates for elective office.

They meet “formally” on the second Monday of each month at noon, and have casual coffee and after work meetups each month as well, usually in downtown Greenville.

Find details on their page of the GCDP website.

Young Democrats of Greenville County

An offshoot of the Greenville County Democratic Party, the Young Democrats’ mission is to encourage young voters to participate in the political process, to advance the values of the Democratic Party, and to advocate for issues important to young voters in the South Carolina Upstate.

Follow them or get involved via the Young Dems section of the GCDP website.
