About Us

Who We Are

Headquartered in Greenville, Indivisible Upstate SC (IUSC) is a non-partisan, pro-democracy grassroots movement of engaged citizens across the ten Upstate counties of South Carolina. We are a local chapter of the nationwide Indivisible Project focused on democracy reform to build a more just and inclusive society for all.

Our chapter began in December 2024 by local citizens inspired by the National Indivisible Guide. We do not directly engage with political campaigns or back any candidates financially as an organization—but we DO elevate local and national issues and work directly with policy makers to enact change.

Our Mission

Indivisible Upstate South Carolina is your bridge to an inclusive, people-powered democracy grounded in empathy and solidarity.

We build local coalitions for social justice, monitor and confront authoritarian government initiatives, and mobilize individuals to speak out and take action.

Our Focus

Local Action, Regional Impact

While we are part of a national network, our work is deeply rooted in the Upstate. We have primarily focused our energy in and around Greenville, Spartanburg, and Anderson counties, but we are keeping a watchful eye on legislation in Columbia that affects all of South Carolina. We understand that change starts at the local level, and we are dedicated to:

Educating and mobilizing: Informing our members and the broader community about critical issues and opportunities for action.

Direct engagement: Contacting our elected officials at all levels to make our voices heard.

Building partnerships: Collaborating with other progressive organizations in the Upstate, such as Our Revolution, 50501, We the People, and Together Greenville, to amplify our collective impact.

Advocating for progressive values: Working towards policies that promote fairness, equality, and opportunity for all.

Community outreach: Engaging in service projects that benefit our neighbors and support marginalized communities.
